Set Habits instead of Resolution

It’s that time of the year again when people jump on the band wagon and make resolutions to better themselves for the next 12 months but sadly a good number of people fall off track by Valentines Day. The willpower to workout 6-7 days a week, eat protein, rice and broccoli and or think you can set a new deadlift PR in a few months seems easy enough. That over promising yourself that all these can be achieved in less time is not realistic in real life. The key behind successful long term change is recognizing that this takes time and it’s full of baby steps instead of large overnight leap. And so creating HABITS will be the way to go for improving the Health and Fitness goal.

Q: How do you stick to your habits?

-Make your goals small and consistent i.e chip way at these small attainable goals by breaking them into action points and create habit around these actions.

Q: Look at when and why you keep falling off track?

– Do you fall off the wagon when life gets busy and you struggle to put yourself as a priority? Then seek tools and habits to improve your time management in these times.

Q: Do you fall off track each time you get stressed?

-Then look at stress management tools that doesn’t involve turning to food for comfort.

Q: Do you fall off track in the weekends/ socializing?

-Then look at how to include socializing in your diet plan.

Q: Do you blame on “lack of motivation” or “lack of time” or “the Holidays” ? If so then you should get out of your own head and start taking responsibility for your actions.

Q: Do you blame the lockdown for being lazy? My own personal workouts are done at home since the pandemic and some of my long term clients workout from home very consistently where they can’t blame that they don’t have time for the gym or a babysitter for the kids. You can definitely invest in resistance bands for home training and get good results out of it.

Q: Do you rely on motivation to reach your goals? Motivation comes and goes for everyone. There is NO ONE whose motivated 24/7, 365, so stop waiting until “you feel like it”.

Motivation gets you started , Habits get you over the finish line.

Know that you are worth the work ❤️
